I’m so excited to be participating in the NYC Bake Sale this year! It’s my first food blogger event and it’s going to be for a great cause to help end childhood hunger in America. All proceeds will go to benefit Share Our Strength, a national nonprofit organization looking to end childhood hunger by 2015 and leave no kid hungry.
The NYC Bake Sale will be held this Saturday, April 28th, at the Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene.
If you’ve never been to the Brooklyn Flea before, this is a great time to stop by! Come down and buy some sweet treats, generously donated by over 50 different local bakeries and bloggers include macaroons from Danny’s Macaroons, Salted Brown Butter Rice Crispy Treats by Deb from Smitten Kitchen, Coconut Oatmeal Cookies from Tasty Pursuit, and sweet and salty brownies from Baked.
I’ll be there manning the table from 11:30 – 1:00 PM. I’ll be baking up some homemade ‘oreos’ and earl grey tea shortbread cookies tonight, so come stop by and say hi! Sneak peak of what I’ll be making below. (Recipes to come in new post tomorrow)
CAN’T COME TO BROOKLYN? You can donate online to be in the raffle for a chance to win prizes including a NYC Sweet Sampler Package with an assortment of sweets that we’ll be selling that day and a handmade cake plate made by Georgie Cakes, plus more prizes from With Love, From Brooklyn, Leckerlee, Michelle Jaffee’s Sweet & Simple and Southern Pantry. They will be shipped to your door and in your tummy in no time at all. Don’t miss out! Make your donations now: http://t.co/h2fHcI2L
